      Graham was born and raised in the Ashburn area. He attended Briar Woods High School where he was quite active and participated in a variety of sports ranging from football to track and field. He graduated from James Madison University and received a B.S. with a double major in  Mathematics and Statistics and minor in Spanish. During his time at JMU, he served as a resident advisor for a couple hundred students (freshmen and upperclassmen) and walked onto the Varsity JMU Cheerleading team eventually being nominated by his teammates and coach to be one of the team captains. Graham juggled school, a varsity sport and graduated with a 3.5 GPA. In his free time, he unwinds with his friends playing video gamesand volleyball. He lives in the Ashburn Farms. ​ Availability: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6:30 - 9 pm in-person.

​      Will is currently a Systems Engineer supporting Federal Government contracts in implementing software solutions.  He has worked for a number of high tech firms throughout his 26 year career and has been involved in projects ranging from Software Programming to Sales.  He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Hampton University and a Masters degree from George Mason University.  He enjoys applying his background and skills to tutor students in subjects like Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calculus.  He resides in Leesburg with his wife and two teenage boys.  He enjoys recreational sports, cooking, and travel.  Availability:  In-person and/or Zoom on evenings and weekends to assist grades 6-12.

      Mary R. earned her Bachelor’s from George Mason University and her Master’s in Special Education from Shenandoah University. She is currently an elementary school special education cross categorical teacher in Loudoun County. Before Mary became a resource teacher, she taught a self-contained class for students with autism, and previously worked in positions as an assistant in autism classrooms, as well as a behavior assistant. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham, a phonics-based approach to reading, and has participated in several dyslexia trainings and workshops. She is currently pursuing a certification in Specialized Reading. She lives in Leesburg.  Availability: BOOKED

      John is a retired professor with over 25 years of teaching and academic advising experience at several area colleges including Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, and George Mason University. He received his BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Marquette University and his MS and PhD in resource development from Michigan State University. He has tutored and advised high school students in the Ashburn for many years and has taught high school courses for homeschoolers preparing for college. He tutors most high school subjects including all the social sciences, history, government, English, math through algebra 2, biology and chemistry. He also works with individual students preparing for the SAT and ACT exams and offers college counseling to students and their parents on a case-by-case basis. He started playing guitar in elementary school and formed a garage band in 7th grade. He still manages to play with a garage band today that occasionally gets out of the garage. Availability: In-person. 

        Shane is holds a B.A. degree in Criminology and a B.S. degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech. He is currently planning to attend law school. Before college, he attended Stone Bridge High School where he ran varsity track and played varsity lacrosse. He was in the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and was eventually awarded the Student-Athlete Award. Shane works out in his free time, going out on frequent runs and lifting in the gym.   Availability: Zoom only - Algebra - Pre-Calculus; AP History & AP English; Biology; Spanish 1 - 4; college essays.

       Amy received her B.A. in Elementary Education at Penn State University, and has been living in Northern VA for over 20 years enjoying her family, volunteer work, dogs and experiences our area offers. She has over 17 years of teaching experience in the Northern Virginia area focused mainly in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. Most of her career has been focused on PS-2nd grade classrooms while tutoring students outside of the classroom in all subject areas.  Amy aims to display a compassionate and nurturing approach while encouraging a child's self-confidence and joy for education.  Availability:  In-person and/or Zoom. Amy is available to tutor your child during the day or early evenings in areas that are specifically needed or she can help facilitate Distance Learning throughout the school year in person or virtually.​ BOOKED

​​       Aimee earned a B.S. Degree from Syracuse University in Exercise Science. She managed health clubs in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area in the late 90's. For the last several years, she has served as a substitute teacher for Loudoun Co. Public Schools and founded Broad Run Crew Inc., promoting amateur & competitive rowing at Broad Run High School. Additionally, every September in Herndon, Virginia, Aimee directs the Tri4Love Triathlon, a USAT-sanctioned event, to help support medical expenses for her daughter, Taylor Love, a two-time cancer survivor, now 15 years old, and bring awareness and action to this much neglected childhood disease (www.TaylorLove.org). She has several years experience working for Ashburn Tutors tutoring children in all subjects and adults with autism. She lives in Ashburn Village with her famil​y.  Availability: In-person and/or Zoom during the day. She can assist with homework help, writing, elementary - middle school subjects.

       Isabella  received her Law Degree from the Universidad de la Sabana in Bogota and a Master of Law in Comparative Law form the University of Miami. She is from Bogota, Colombia and has lived in the United States for twenty-one years.  She previously worked at Law firms in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in Washington, DC. Isabella stopped working to care for her growing family but stayed involved in her community.  For the last eight years she has homeschooled her four children, and is currently homeschooling her two youngest. She has taught elementary and middle school children as a volunteer for the Diocese of Bogotá, Miami and Arlington for over thirty years, and has been teaching for her homeschool co-op for three years. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She is available to tutor elementary and middle school age students who require homework assistance. Isabella lives with her family in Arcola, VA.  Availability: In-person tutoring - Spanish, elementary - middle school math & Algebra, homework help.

      Mary M. earned a B.A. in Journalism from Penn State and works as a freelance writer and editor for newspapers, magazines, websites and corporate communication materials.    She serves on the board of a local nonprofit where she enjoys helping high school students find meaningful community service projects throughout Loudoun County.  The mother of two college students, Mary lives in River Creek.  Availability: Zoom Only - elementary school students in all subjects and  older students with writing projects and college essays.

      Mary Beth earned a B.S. in Paralegal Studies and an M.S. in Reading Education from Marywood University. She is currently the director and owner of Ashburn Tutors, LLC.  She served as an elementary and middle school Reading Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools and the Pocono Mountain School District in Pennsylvania. In addition, Mary Beth was a second grade teacher for the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Arlington and served as a home-bound instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools.  She has been a private tutor since 1995. She currently tutors full-time, conducts homeschool evaluations, and reading level assessments. She lives in Ashburn Village.  Availability: In-person and/or Zoom - to teach children and adults with reading & learning difficulties, elementary math - algebra, and homework help/study skills. In addition, she conducts homeschool evaluations and reading level assessments.

      Dave earned a B.A. from Norwich University, an M.S. in Reading Education, and post-graduate certification in Learning Disabilities from Marywood University. He was a Title 1 Remedial Reading Specialist for public schools in Pennsylvania and has served as a learning disabilities teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools and the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Arlington. In addition, he was a home-bound instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools. Dave has been a private tutor since 1996, owns Ashburn Tutors, LLC and Leesburg Tutors, and currently tutors full-time. He lives in Ashburn Village.​Availability: In-person and/or Zoom -  to teach children and adults with reading & learning difficulties, elementary math - algebra, and homework help/study skills. College Tutors

      Jordan earned an Advanced Diploma from Broad Run High School and the Academy of Engineering and Technology at the Academies of Loudoun. Before attending James Madison University’s Honors College, she will be taking a gap year to pursue her passion for aviation, crew, and language-learning. She is organized, proactive, and passionate about teaching, as she will be coaching her high school crew team this coming school year. Jordan’s service to others takes many forms: from teaching younger students in her karate school for many years to virtually tutoring Turkish students in English and American culture to helping her fellow musicians in Broad Run’s advanced women’s choir. She works part-time at Great Harvest Bread in Ashburn and volunteers with Civil Air Patrol, hoping to continue her work in the Air Force into college. Jordan loves rowing, singing, and birdwatching in her spare time. Availability: In-person and/or Zoom in reading/essay, Algebra I through AB Calculus, Biology, Environmental Science, History, French, Music, and general homework help.

       Alyce is a senior at the University of Virginia. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. At college, she is involved in mentoring and advocating for women in STEM as she is a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, a professional engineering sorority, and she leads a small group in Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. She has experience tutoring students in Math and Science as she was the President of Science National Honor Society and Vice-President of Math National Honor Society in high school. In her free time, Alyce loves to go on road trips with her friends, explore the hiking scene in Charlottesville, and actively listen to new playlists on Spotify! Availability: Zoom only - Algebra I through Calculus 2, college essays, AP Psychology, and homework help. 

      Ashley is a junior at Carnegie Mellon University. She is on the Women's Soccer team at Carnegie Mellon and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. She loves working with kids both inside and outside of the classroom as she tutored in high school as a member of Math National Honor Society, the president of Science National Honor Society, and volunteered for AWANA clubs for 6 years. A 2019 graduate from Broad Run High School, Ashley strongly believes teaching has a large impact on the success of a student, prompting her to invite her 10th grade math teacher to Loudoun County's annual Excellence in Education Banquet. In high school, Ashley enjoyed being a part of clubs and girls soccer, leading the team as captain her senior year.       Helen is enrolled with Liberty University Online pursuing a degree in Aviation and Education. She is hardworking, organized, and enthusiastic about her passions. At 16 she flew her first solo and discovered her love for aviation. She is currently working at the Leesburg Airport, is pursuing flight lessons, and is working towards her career goal of becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. Helen has a passion for teaching and has earned her Associates's Degree in Teacher Education at Northern Virginia Community College. She loves being active and trying new things. She works part-time at the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion, is volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol and at Cornerstone Chapel, and was the captain of her high school crew team. What she values the most is honesty, loyalty, and kindness. She gives her best effort in anything she is doing and looks for the same in others. Helen loves meeting new people and with tutoring, she loves helping make things that seem difficult easy to understand.
