Maria (available) earned a B.S. from Towson University (MD) in English Language and Literature, and an M.A.T. from Shepherd University (WV) in Secondary Education. She currently works for LCPS as an eighth grade teacher at a middle school in Ashburn, VA. She has always known she wanted to be a teacher: many years ago when she was in kindergarten and her teacher was out sick, Maria took over for the substitute and ran the shapes and colors lesson for her class! Before moving to Loudoun County she was the Director of the Intensive English Language Program at Shepherd University, and also taught EL Adults at Frederick Community College (MD). Maria has extensive experience working with EL students as well as native English speakers. She works with students on their reading comprehension skills, writing skills, and college preparation materials (including SAT/ACT preparation). Maria currently lives in Leesburg, VA.
Chris (weekends only) earned a B.A. from Christendom College in 2009, and an M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Liberty University in 2011. He has experience teaching and tutoring students at the middle school and high school levels for the past eight years. Currently, he is a high school teacher for the Loudoun County Public Schools district, and tutors middle and high school students in the core subjects of math, science, social studies, and English. He is available to tutor students middle school science, math, English and History, as well as high school Algebra I & II, Geometry, English, and Social Studies. He is also available to tutor in test prep for the PSAT and the SAT. He lives in Ashburn Village.
Nirzaree (weekday openings - Ashburn/Broadlands) is a sophomore at George Mason University studying Bioengineering and is enrolled in the Honors program. She graduated in 2018 from Rock Ridge High School and the Academy of Science. Her interests include software engineering, molecular biology, and nanomedicine. She enjoys helping others learn and has experience teaching middle and high school students in calculus, SAT/ACT preparation, and algebra. She lives in Ashburn, VA with her family.
Adam (booked) is currently a senior at Broad Run High School. He is enrolled at the Academy of Engineering and Technology taking Multivariable Calculus, Chemistry, and Engineering. He received a 1510 on his SAT's with a 790 on Math and a 720 on English. He is Captain of the Broad Run High School Crew team and rows for Resilient Rowing in Fairfax. He has tutored for Ashburn Tutors for more than a year in higher level high school math. He lives with his family in Ashburn Village.
Helen (booked) is hardworking, organized, and enthusiastic about her passions. At 16 she flew her first solo and discovered her love for aviation. She is currently working at the Leesburg Airport, is pursuing flight lessons, and is working towards her career goal of becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. Helen has a passion for teaching, and is currently earning her Associates Degree in Teacher Education at Northern Virginia Community College. She loves being active and trying new things. She works part-time at the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion, has volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol, and was the captain of her high school crew team. What she values the most is honesty, loyalty, and kindness. She gives her best effort in anything she is doing and looks for the same in others. Helen loves helping make things that seem difficult, easy to understand. She is available to tutor students in reading, writing/essay, Algebra, and general homework help. She lives in Ashburn Village with her family.
Meghana (booked) graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Biology and Statistics with a concentration in Biology. She graduated with an Advanced Studies Diploma from Broad Run and is familiar with the college application as she is a recent graduate. She is comfortable teaching all levels of high school math including statistics, SAT/ACT preparation, AP examination preparation, and College Admissions Essays. She has been a Sigma Tau Sigma mentor in high school and organized many study groups and office hours in college. In the past, she has tutored students ranging from elementary school to high school. She lives with her family in Ashburn, VA.
Aimee (booked) earned a B.S. Degree from Syracuse University in Exercise Science. She managed health clubs in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area in the late 90's. For the last several years, she has served as a substitute teacher for Loudoun Co. Public Schools and founded Broad Run Crew Inc., promoting amateur & competitive rowing at Broad Run High School. Additionally, every September in Herndon, VA, Aimee directs the Tri4Love Triathlon, a USAT sanctioned event, to help support medical expenses for her daughter, Taylor Love, a two-time cancer survivor, now 13 years old, and bring awareness and action to this much neglected childhood disease (www.TaylorLove.org). Aimee has experience tutoring elementary-aged students and Autistic adults. She lives in Ashburn Village with her family.
Desiree' (weekday openings -Ashburn/Leesburg) graduated from Christopher Newport University in May of 2015 with her Bachelors in Communication Studies and Bachelors in Sociology. She went on to attend George Mason University, majoring in School Counseling. Desiree' graduated with her Masters in School Counseling in May of 2018 and currently works as a School Counselor for LCPS. She is comfortable working with Elementary and Middle School age students, by helping with homework, student success, study preparation and tips, and more. Desiree' is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and loves to give back through service in the Loudoun community. Desiree' lives in Ashburn, Virginia and plans to start visiting more places in the area upon arriving in December of 2018.
Tom (booked) graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in mathematics, a minor in physics, and Phi Beta Kappa membership. He also graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, what's more, with straight A's. He has done math and physics tutoring for tutor.com, translation from Chinese, and professional music composition/arrangement. He writes prose when he can. He is an Eagle Scout.
Mary R. (weekday openings) earned her Bachelor’s from George Mason University and her Master’s in Special Education from Shenandoah University. She is currently an elementary school special education cross categorical teacher in Loudoun County. Before Mary became a resource teacher, she taught a self-contained class for students with autism, and previously worked in positions as an assistant in autism classrooms, as well as a behavior assistant. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham, a phonics-based approach to reading, and has participated in several dyslexia trainings and workshops. She is currently pursuing a certification in Specialized Reading. She lives in Leesburg.
Ashley (Potomac Falls/Sterling) earned a B.A in History at the University of Dallas and was also certified in Elementary Education in the state of Texas. She was a 4th grade teacher in the Diocese of Arlington and also has experience homeschooling her son. Her strengths are teaching English, writing, reading, history, math, and organizational skills to elementary and middle school students. Ashley lives with her husband and four children in Sterling, VA.
Isabella(few openings - Broadlands only) received her Law Degree from the Universidad de la Sabana in Bogota and a Master of Law in Comparative Law form the University of Miami. She is from Bogota, Colombia and has lived in the United States for twenty-one years. She previously worked at Law firms in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in Washington, DC. Isabella stopped working to care for her growing family but stayed involved in her community. For the last eight years she has homeschooled her four children, and is currently homeschooling her two youngest. She has taught elementary and middle school children as a volunteer for the Diocese of Bogotá, Miami and Arlington for over thirty years, and has been teaching for her homeschool co-op for three years. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She is available to tutor elementary and middle school age students who require homework assistance. Isabella lives with her family in Arcola, VA.
Mary M. (weekday openings - Leesburg area) earned a B.A. in Journalism from Penn State and works as a freelance writer and editor for newspapers, magazines, websites and corporate communication materials. She is available to tutor elementary school students in all subjects and to help older students with writing projects and college essays. She serves on the board of a local nonprofit where she enjoys helping high school students find meaningful community service projects throughout Loudoun County. The mother of two college students, Mary lives in River Creek.

She was an elementary and middle school Reading Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools and the Pocono Mountain School District in Pennsylvania. In addition, Mary Beth was a second grade teacher for the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Arlington and served as a home-bound instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools. She has been a private tutor since 1995. She currently tutors full-time, conducts homeschool evaluations, and reading level assessments. She lives in Ashburn Village.

He was a Title 1 Remedial Reading Specialist for public schools in Pennsylvania and has served as a learning disabilities teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools and the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Arlington. In addition, he was a home-bound instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools. Dave has been a private tutor since 1996 and currently tutors full-time.
